Original fine art & San Francisco watercolor classes
Watercolor classes and creative expeditions in San Francisco
Come outside. Look closer. Paint what you notice.
You don’t need to know how to paint. Join me in gardens, parks, museums, and remarkable corners of San Francisco for welcoming, individual and small-group watercolor experiences designed to help you slow down, look closely, and make something that feels like your own.

You might come to learn watercolor. You may leave with something else.
There’s a moment I see again and again: someone stops worrying about whether they’re doing it right and starts paying attention to what they actually see.
A flower becomes more complicated. A familiar view becomes strange again. You begin to notice colors you hadn’t seen before.
You’ll learn watercolor along the way. But the real invitation is to slow down, trust your eye, and discover your own way of seeing.
About Marco Flavio
I trained in Rome in classical painting, where I learned that seeing comes before painting. Light, proportion, color, and the particular character of what’s in front of you became the foundation of my practice.
Over the years, that way of seeing has taken me through residencies in Japan and Canada and collaborations with museums, cultural institutions, designers, and private clients across the Bay Area.
What matters most to me now is helping others discover that same pleasure of paying attention. Out There Watercolors brings together tradition, intuition, and the simple experience of being somewhere long enough to really see it.
